Manager, Business Development

Job Summary

The Manager of Business Development will be an exceptional leader with a track record of success in driving business results through sales leadership, customer engagement, and operational excellence.

Experience in sophisticated technology sales is an absolute requirement. This includes software, custom application solutions, custom websites, and software integrations. Successful candidates will possess a minimum of 5 years experience leading sales efforts for related markets. Experience building and executing sales plans for related products such as digital/web services and software is strongly preferred.

This position is located in Chesapeake, Virginia and involves travel (up to 40%.)

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Hire, develop, and lead a sales team while ensuring exceptional ongoing client relationships.
  • Partner with service delivery teams to identify opportunities for new services and distribution channels to grow sales and increase profitability.
  • Meet with major customers and prospects, both independently and as part of a sales and marketing team to build on key relationships and establish new ones.
  • Grow the teams industry expertise through regular presentation and reporting, including briefings to our senior management team on overall business and industry trends.
  • Attend industry events and conferences, engaging with current and prospective clients, and providing thought leadership that advances our brand as appropriate.
  • Establish lead generation and lead qualification programs.
  • Use knowledge of the competitive market and industry trends to continue to develop Web Teks’ unique selling proposition and differentiators.
  • Identify upcoming business opportunities that match Web Tek’s relevant experience and lead the team to win business that you find and qualify.
  • Lead the Client Engagement Specialists and Practice Area Specialists in building a leads pipeline, strong client relationships and identifying solutions that meet customers and prospects needs.
  • Engage with customers to qualify opportunities and gain a better understanding of their business needs and requirements.
  • Growing revenue to agreed upon targets.
  • Interface with senior management and external partners to develop and implement strategies and plans for successful opportunity capture.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong track record of sales leadership and revenue growth in a technology, software, or technical service agency setting
  • Strong leadership ability and persuasive skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education plus business development experience in a technology service business setting
  • Superb communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Work experience should demonstrate your ability to collaborate with multiple customer levels, particularly senior-level decision makers
  • Technology savvy

  • Write RFI responses and respond to RFPs as required
